Aniket Ghai is a Senior Economist at the United Nations in New York, focussing on climate change and sustainable development, in particular supporting the poorest countries and small islands developing nations.  He previously worked for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Cabinet, and before that was Policy Advisor to the Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme. He designed and rolled out the UN’s climate neutral strategy. He was part of the secretariat of the Rio Earth Summit (UNCED) and the UN Climate Change Convention and Kyoto Protocol. He has advised international organizations, governments and NGOs on trade, sustainable development and climate change. He was educated at Oxford University, UK, and Columbia University, New York, USA.
