Barry McCarthy is a highly respected CEO with extensive experience in digital transformation, cybersecurity, innovation, and ESG strategies in mid- to large-sized companies. He is a Fortune 1000 CEO, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, and a WSJ Best Selling Author, and EMMY Nominated Producer. Currently, he serves as the President, CEO, and Board Director of Deluxe, a NYSE-listed (DLX) company that generates over $2.2 billion in annual revenue.

Under Barry's leadership, Deluxe has transformed from a check printer into a Trusted Payments and Data company. Today, Deluxe processes nearly $3 trillion in digital payment volume, representing approximately 15% of the US GDP. The company in its third year of organic revenue growth an accomplishment not achieved in more than a decade, likely since 1996. Newsweek recognized Deluxe as the #11 Most Trusted Financial Services Brand, ranking higher than industry power-brands MasterCard, American Express, and PayPal. In recognition of this transformation, Barry was named the 2022 EY Entrepreneur of the Year® in the Heartland region.

Barry is a battle-tested public company director and CEO, serving or having served on multiple national- or super-regional-level boards including the National Urban League, Committee for Economic Development, Carter Center, Woodruff Arts Center, Minnesota Business Partnership, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on the boards of multiple global merchant services (card-based payments) companies in North America and Asia, as well as VC-backed start-ups, helping several achieve profitable exits.

Barry brings a wealth of media and government relations experience to each board, having advised government legislative and regulatory bodies on complex payments industry issues, and negotiated incentives tied to relocation and job creation. He has been profiled in Time and Fortune, twice appeared on Jim Cramer's Mad Money, and has been featured on the cover of multiple trade publications. In the community and industry, he has served on the Boards of Catholic Charities Atlanta, Technology Association of Georgia, FinTech Atlanta (inaugural Chairman), Georgia Technology Summit (Chairman), American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC), and P20 Payments.

Barry’s achievements extend into the world of multimedia, having produced the twice EMMY-nominated, #1 unscripted lifestyle program on Hulu called Small Business Revolution. His book, also titled Small Business Revolution, published by Wiley & Sons, debuted at #2 on the Wall Street Journal Best Seller list.

Earlier in his career he held executive roles of increasing responsibility at Procter & Gamble, Wells Fargo, First Data (now Fiserv), Verisign and co-founded Silicon Valley start-up MagnaCash. Barry earned his MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
