CARMEN JANDACEK, Director, Total Rewards and Corporate Occupational Health and Performance, Arizona Public Service Company

Carmen has worked for Arizona Public Service, a subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation since 1996 holding various positions and leadership roles in Total Rewards, Employee Relations and Ethics. She has been involved with all facets of the Company’s Total Rewards program, including a defined benefit and retiree medical program, for over 20 years.

Carmen is the Founder of the APS LGBT Alliance, an employee network group, and is currently a board director of the Better Business Bureau serving the Pacific Southwest, Central & Inland California. She was previously a board member for eight years (three as chairperson) with the nonprofit one n ten, board member of the Greater Phoenix Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Carmen has an undergraduate degree in management and earned her MBA from the University of Phoenix in 1999. She has previously held the designations of SPHR from SHRM and CCEP from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics. Additionally, she has been a utility industry mentor for four years, mentoring women across the Western US through the Western Energy Institute. 

In 2017 she was recognized as a Woman of Achievement by In Business Magazine and in 2019, she received the One Community Local Hero Award for her contributions to equality and inclusion in the Phoenix area. In 2022, she received the Nora Gustavsson Volunteer Spirit Award for Chair & Board Service from one n ten for dedicated service to LGBTQ youth.

Carmen is an avid health enthusiast and believes the key to successful leadership is a healthy mind and body. She is an Ironman Arizona finisher and is an avid weightlifter. Carmen and her fiancé Stephanie reside in Scottsdale with their three miniature schnauzers, Tribble, Bumble and Presley.
