David L. Gonzales

David L. Gonzales is a Senior Advisor, Human Capital, and leads the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Institute of The Conference Board’s Human Capital Center. He is Founder, President, and CEO of David L. Gonzales & Associates, an independent global business consultancy specializing in global DEI, environmental, social & governance (ESG) matters, ethical supply chain management, strategic philanthropy, and board of directors’ leadership development. Before starting his consultancy, David served as Global Chief Diversity Officer for Bristol Myers Squibb, having previously served as Global Chief Diversity Officer and Executive Director of Compliance for Merck & Company. Over the course of his more than four-decade global career, he has also held senior executive positions at Eastman Kodak, ExxonMobil, Purvin & Gertz, and PepsiCo.

David served on the PepsiCo Foundation Board of Directors and as a past board member of the Latino Cultural Center of the Smithsonian, Southern Methodist University—The Cox School of Business, and various board/board of advisor positions focused on the Latino/Hispanic community. David earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University with a minor in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in Industrial Administration focused on international business and finance from Carnegie Mellon University—Tepper School of Business.
