David Gann

David Gann is Oxford University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Development and External Affairs and Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Saïd Business School. He is Chairman of the UK Atomic Energy Authority and member of the UK Government’s Innovation Expert Group

David combines deep academic expertise in innovation and technology with its practical application through strategic leadership roles in industry and mentoring technology start-ups. He holds non-executive directorships with Directa Plus plc, a leader in pristine graphene, and VenCap International plc, the venture fund-of-funds.

David was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2010 for services to engineering, the 2014 Tjalling C. Koopmans Asset Award for extraordinary contributions to economic science and the Imperial College Medal in 2019.
