Ms. Donnelly-Brienza joined Cambrex in June 2019 as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, responsible for the global people strategy and all people related processes, and programs, including organization design and development, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition and management, HR consulting, performance, and succession.

Ms. Donnelly-Brienza was a member of the C-suite of executives responsible for managing the due diligence and eventual transaction of Cambrex moving from public company status to entering a partnership with PE firm Permira. During her tenure with Cambrex, Dottie has led the global HR integration of Avista Pharma, and Q1 Scientific into Cambrex, and is currently overseeing the HR integration of Cambrex’s recent acquisition of Snapdragon into the company. Dottie also supported the Board of Directors on the transition of the former Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, and hiring of Cambrex’s current CEO. She has been responsible for process improvement and value creation in numerous areas of the business, assessment and hiring of key leaders including the hiring of three Business Unit Presidents and the Chief M&A Officer, along with placement of numerous other critical talent across the organization. Since Cambrex is highly acquisitive, Dottie has played an ongoing role leading HR diligence of target companies as part of the company’s strategic plan.

Previously Ms. Donnelly-Brienza held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer for Cantel Medical, a medical device company in the infection prevention space of endoscopy, water purification and filtration, and healthcare disposables.  Prior to that, Dottie held a variety of leadership roles, including almost 20 years at Johnson and Johnson, including CHRO for Ethicon, J&J’s $5 billion global medical device business, VP HR and Change Mgmt. for J&J Consumer’s $17 billion acquisition of the Pfizer consumer health business, and VP HR for Janssen Pharmaceutica, one of J&J’s most important pharmaceutical businesses. Dottie has also served as SVP Talent Management for Hilton Worldwide; and Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Talent Management for Merck. Dottie has served on the Boards of multiple not for profit organizations including a member of the Governance Committee for the Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, and Chair of the Personnel Committee for the Somerset NJ Visiting Nurses Association, leading the search for a new CEO; and Chair of the Personnel Committee for Greater DC Cares in the metro Washington, D.C, area.

Dottie has a Masters in Behavioral Science and Organization Development from the American University in Washington, DC, a certificate in Executive Leadership from Harvard University, and Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Communications from Marywood University in Scranton, PA.
