As Microsoft’s General Manager of Enterprise Risk, Jeff Pratt is responsible for advising Senior Leadership and ultimately the Board of Directors of potential events which may affect the achievement of company strategies and goals. The Enterprise Risk Office works in partnership with many risk organizations across Microsoft to identify, assess, monitor, and drive risk mitigation where necessary.
For the past 4 years, as General Manager and Controller of the Server & Tools Business, Jeff was responsible for the financial management and oversight of an $18B segment of Microsoft which generated over $7B in profit annually. Mr. Pratt led a team of 70 who managed a variety of functions from managing capital allocation, to financial analysis, to controls & compliance, as well as procurement strategies.
Additionally Mr. Pratt led finance teams in India, Israel, and China; the three locations outside Redmond, Washington, where Microsoft develops software. He is also the Treasurer of Microsoft Open Technologies, a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation.
Mr. Pratt has been with Microsoft for over 20 years. He has held a variety of positions including Assistant Controller, Microsoft Latin America; Controller, Microsoft South Pacific, Controller, Microsoft United States Sales & Marketing. He also spent time as General Manager of Field Operations where he managed Sales Incentives, Sales Events, Reward & Recognition Programs, and Sales Communications.
Mr. Pratt graduated from the University of Kansas in 1991 with degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. He passed the Certified Public Accounting Exam (CPA) in 1993 and the Certified Management Accounting Exam (CMA) in 1995. He is also the Red Feather Development Group Board Chairman, a non-profit focused on sustainable housing initiatives on Native American Reservations in Montana and Arizona. Jeff lives in Bellevue, Washington with his wife of 23 years, Patricia, and his two children, Henry and Stella.
