The following is a biography of former employee/consultant

Jessica R. Nicholson is Senior Economist at the Committee for Economic Development, the public policy center of The Conference Board. With nearly 20 years of experience assessing US economic data, she researches policy and business responses to issues around workforce, education, technology, and innovation.

Prior to joining The Conference Board, Nicholson spent 18 years working for the federal government in a variety of roles in both the Department of Commerce and the Department of Labor. At the Department of Commerce, Nicholson led the development of measures to estimate the digital economy’s contribution to US growth, and she also supported data-driven policy development in the Office of the Chief Economist.

Her portfolio of publications includes analysis on a variety of topics including labor markets, the digital economy, manufacturing, and prices. At the Department of Labor, she worked on the development and dissemination of several principal federal economic indicators.

Nicholson holds an MA in economics from Boston University and a BA in economics from the University of Maryland.
