John Sigmon

John W. Sigmon is Program Director for the Senior HR Executives Council. He is an executive coach, speaker, teacher, facilitator, and organizational transformation expert with a range of expertise spanning every sector of the economy.  John served as Chief Human Resources Officer to the former Comptroller General of the US, beginning in an advisory capacity and as a senior HR strategist. John and his team received the “Culture Award” from Smart CEO for fostering a creative and collaborative workplace culture that promotes and sustains organizational performance. He was a finalist for the CHRO of the Year in Washington, DC. The annual Human Resources Leadership Awards celebrate outstanding service and strategic vision.

John has been an advisory board member for the Department of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the University of Maryland Baltimore County since 2016. In this role he advises the program chairs on curriculum design and development and serves as a mentor to students. John also designed and teaches a graduate level course, “Leadership and Talent Management,” created to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

John is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF), a Senior Professional in Human Resources (HRCI), and a Master Corporate Executive Coach (ACEC). He is Board Certified as a Healthcare Executive by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He received his graduate degree in Public Health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina.
