Kathryn Fessler directs the Altria family of companies’ strategies and activities in corporate philanthropy, community relations and employee community action. In past roles at Altria, Katie has managed corporate giving portfolios in national and local youth development, education, arts and culture, and civic and employee community engagement, and has led Inclusion & Diversity strategy for the enterprise.

Prior to joining Altria, Katie served as vice president and community affairs director for Wachovia Securities, director of the ArtsFund for the Arts Council of Richmond, director of development for the Richmond Symphony, and corporate philanthropy officer for Dominion Energy.

A Phi Beta Kappa alumna of the University of Richmond, Katie is a member of the Corporate Citizenship Leadership Council of the Conference Board, the Greater Washington Partnership Leadership Council, the GO Virginia Region 4 Leadership Council and the Greater Richmond Chamber Foundation board of trustees. In her community, she serves on the board of directors of the School for the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC) and enjoys writing poetry and performing as a choral musician. She is an alumna of LEAD Virginia, Leadership Metro Richmond, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business’ LGBTQ Executive Leadership Program and is certified in Corporate Citizenship Management by the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship.
