Paul Hodgson is widely considered one of the foremost authorities in the field of ESG, having researched and written about these subjects for more than 30 years. He is a Senior Contributor for The Conference Board as well as working as Senior Advisor to the data firm ESGAUGE, and as a freelance writer for Ceres as well as many other organizations such as ICCR and Oregon State Treasury.

Until 2012, he was GMI Ratings/The Corporate Library’s Chief Research Director. He joined The Corporate Library in 2001 and was one of the chief architects of the firm’s executive compensation and ESG ratings, and the author of most of the company’s published research. He was also the chief author on its award-winning blog and was a regular contributor to Forbes.com.

He is the author of numerous books and research reports on executive compensation and ESG and has had articles published in many journals, including ‘Fortune’ and ‘Responsible Investor,’ at both of which he was a regular columnist for a number of years, ‘Financial Times’, ‘Capital Monitor’, ‘Compliance Week’, ‘Risk Management’, ‘Business Week’, ‘The Guardian’, ‘Reuters’, ‘Bloomberg,’  ‘Directorship’, ‘Ivey Business Journal’, ‘Corporate Secretary Magazine’ and ‘Directors and Boards’. His most recent book was Building Value Through Compensation, a title in the CCH Board Perspectives series.

Mr. Hodgson is a graduate of Durham University (England) and University College, Cardiff (Wales).
