Rich Richardson is the SVP of Human Resources for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. In this role, Rich is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources, including COEs, HR Operations, Business HR and Associate Services. American Honda HR delivers direct support to American Honda associates while also providing HR Shared Services to all Honda associates and entities in US operations.

Additionally, Rich serves as a member of the American Honda Company Operating Committee, President of the Honda USA Foundation and President of the American Honda Education Corporation.

Rich began his Honda career in 1997 at Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. in Marysville, Ohio as a member of the Associate Relations staff, where he was responsible for employee and labor relations.

Rich transitioned from Associate Relations to roles across the HR function, including Organizational Development and HR leadership for all Ohio-based plant locations.  In 2013, Rich relocated to the Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC team as the VP and Business Division Manager responsible for Corporate Affairs, Accounting, Information Services, Corporate Planning, HR, and Facilities.

In 2015, Rich returned to Ohio, where he served as the Division Manager for Regional Planning at Honda North America, LLC. In Regional Planning, he coordinated strategic business planning for all North American Operations (Automobile, Power Sports, and Power Equipment).

Rich joined the American Honda team in 2017 as the AVP of Human Resources.

A native of Ohio, Rich currently resides in Redondo Beach, California, and is married with two grown children.
