For 35 years Shawn O'Grady led businesses and team for General Mills. Just previous to his retirement in June of 2024, he led the Foodservice organization as Group President. This $2B business is focused on growing sales and profit for General Mills by serving the needs of foodservice operators across the United States, including schools, restaurants and hospitals. The role includes seven manufacturing facilities and over 500 employees.

Previously, as Chief Revenue Development Officer, O'Grady led the US Retail Sales organization of 2,000 selling professionals for General Mills, along with the development and deployment of the company’s global E-commerce and Strategic Revenue Management capabilities.

O’Grady joined General Mills in Marketing in July 1990. He spent the first 15 years of his career in the brand management ranks including leading Wheaties during the 1996 Olympics. He was promoted to Vice President in 1998, and concurrent with the General Mills acquisition of The Pillsbury Company in 2001, took the helm of the $1B Pillsbury Refrigerated Baked Goods business.

Prior to joining General Mills, O’Grady graduated with honors from Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s of Science in chemical engineering in 1986. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1990.

Today, he focuses his passion on serving those living with food insecurity in an effort to end hunger in America. He is currently Chair of the Feeding America board of directors, a role he occupied for Second Harvest Heartland in the past.

Shawn lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Becky and two children, Jack and Mary. In his free time he is an avid tennis player and marathoner
