Swami Chandrasekaran is a seasoned technology leader with over 25 years of experience driving AI, digital, and cloud transformations for global organizations. As Principal and Head of the AI & Data Center of Excellence at KPMG, he plays a pivotal role in the firm’s AI leadership, transforming KPMG through innovative AI initiatives. His efforts have led to the standardized adoption of AI, unlocking new ways of working and driving operational efficiency. Over his career, which spans leadership roles at IBM and KPMG, he has contributed to the development of groundbreaking AI and digital systems that have transformed industries worldwide.

Managing KPMG’s AI portfolio, Swami ensures a competitive edge through projects such as advanced RAGs, domain-tuned large language models (LLMs) and SLMs, AI Agents (including Copilots), and AI-enabled search. He leads research and development on cutting-edge AI technologies, overseeing data experimentation frameworks that incorporate synthetic data generation, RLHF, and advanced inferencing techniques.

As chair of the KPMG AI Technology Review Board, he ensures governed and consistent AI adoption across Tax, Audit, Advisory, and internal functions, impacting thousands of professionals. In his capacity as Principal Investigator at the NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium, he contributes to AI safety and regulatory standards, affecting a broad range of industries. Under his leadership, KPMG has delivered innovative solutions such as Knowledge Assistants, AI Teammates, AI Inventory, Trusted AI Toolbox, Design System for AI, and AI System Cards. These tools are used globally to push innovation boundaries while improving trust and efficiency.
