Mr. Tomonori “Tom” Wada is the President & CEO of Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA).

Mr. Wada joined Sumitomo Corporation (SC) in 1989 after graduating with his master's degree in engineering from Osaka University. At SC, he’s dedicated his entire career to working within the Living Related and Real Estate Division. While on assignment at Sumitomo Corporation of Americas from 2013 to 2018, Mr. Wada served as General Manager for SCOA’s Living Related Business Group at the New York headquarters and General Manager for SCOA’s Media and Real Estate Group at the Silicon Valley office. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed Corporate Officer at SC and General Manager within the Living Related and Real Estate Group, then Executive Officer and Assistant GM for the Group. In 2019, Mr. Wada was named CEO of Summit Fresh Produce Limited. In 2020, he was appointed Chairman of Fyffes, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, through 2021 when the company was relocated to Switzerland. During this time, he oversaw a major corporate restructuring and strategic leadership planning that helped establish better governance practices and sustainability within the organization.

Mr. Wada also serves as the President of The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Committee of Directors at The Nippon Club and serves on the Board of Directors for The Japan Society. He has a wife and a daughter and enjoys spending time with his dog, Luke.
