Zack Vinton, Vice President, Global Total Rewards at Walmart, has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources across Total Rewards, HR Business Partnership, and HR Strategy. He currently focuses on expanding Walmart’s global pay transparency strategy and has previously led total rewards for Walmart U.S. and a recent Job and Pay Architecture initiative.

Zack had an accomplished career at Nike before joining Walmart in 2022. He spent 7 years in various leadership roles, including his most recent position as Interim VP of Global Total Rewards. During his tenure, Zack was responsible for overseeing all Global Compensation Programs, Total Rewards Consulting, International C&B, Executive Compensation, Global Benefits, and Global Mobility. He and his teams were instrumental in redesigning global compensation annual processes, establishing enhanced pay equity processes and practices, implementing flexible time off programs and COVID pay continuity practices, improving retail pay programs, and redesigning Nike's global job architecture. 

For 15 years before joining Nike, Zack worked in high-tech at Microsoft and Amazon. He held numerous positions, including leading Executive Compensation, serving as HR Director for Microsoft Games Studio (Xbox), Chief of Staff to the CHRO, and several Total Rewards Business Consultant roles at Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

Zack began his compensation career in the utilities sector in Atlanta, Georgia after graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with his Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. He holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa. 

Zack currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his two sons, Sam (14) and Oliver (12). They share a passion for outdoor activities, often spending their time hiking, biking, and kayaking. When indoors, they love to cook and bake together. Zack has a deep love for travel, trying new restaurants, and enjoying music, audiobooks, and podcasts.
