Abel Wen heads up the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Team’s Communication & Marketing, Crisis Management, and Budget Operations workstreams at Uber. Abel partners with senior leaders to drive and navigate the creation of customized communication–strategic plans and execution of all items associated with the team both internally and externally.

Before joining Uber, Abel was a consultant at Mercer for over 15 years, focusing on HR benefits and DEI initiatives. He led a team that serviced a multitude of clients, delivering on projects for a broad scope of retirement/medical benefit plans. While at the consultancy, Abel also coordinated staffing for the US East Market and delivered diverse candidate talent attraction programming for the broader practice.

Additionally, Abel founded and served as the global co-Chair for the Rising Professionals Network Business Resource Group (BRG) for over a decade and introduced the framework for many of the BRGs within the firm.

Abel earned a BBA in Actuarial Science and a BBA in Risk Management & Insurance with magna cum laude distinctions from Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business.

Abel currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife (Anna) and son (Ace).
