Relevant Experience/Specialization

Alex has over 20-years of experience consulting on disability, leave, time-off and life insurance programs. Alex has been with WTW since 2007 and currently oversees WTW’s Group Benefits practice, comprised of Absence, Disability, Life Insurance, Voluntary, Dental, Vision, and Global benefits. Prior to leading this practice, Alex oversaw WTW’s Absence, Disability Management, and Life Insurance practice for North America. Alex has helped numerous clients look holistically at their time-away offering to ensure the compendium of benefits are efficient, cost effective, easily communicated, and valued. Alex sits on the board of directors for the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI) and has spoken at various industry events on the topic of progressive leave benefits.

Representative projects include:

Program evaluations and redesign, including the associated financial impact of the redesign and projected employee perception of the changes. Evaluations consider traditional leave offerings as well as more contemporary benefits such as: tracking free time-off, parental leave, paid family leave, sabbaticals, and enhanced bereavement benefits.

Vendor procurements and negotiationsfor FMLA administration, short-term disability administration, long-term disability insurance, and Life and AD&D insurance.

Claim and operational assessments with a focus on both vendor and client processes and interactions and leveraging key findings to improve the disability and leave experience.

Plan and vendor management,including customized performance dashboards to track vendor and plan performance and ensure appropriate payout of performance guarantees as well as identify opportunities for improvement and quantifying the ongoing success of program enhancements.

Compliance reviewsof disability, leave and time-off programs with an eye toward compliance as well as improved workforce management.

Education and Credentials

Alex graduated cum laude from the University of California at Irvine with a degree in psychology and a minor in business management.
