The following is a bio of a fomer employee/consultant

Amy Huang is an economist at The Conference based in Beijing. She is responsible for China’s consumption and labor market research. She also covers the consumer confidence work across Asia- Pacific region. 

Amy has extensive working experience across different industries and continents. Prior to joining The Conference Board, Amy was involved in consulting projects, such as G20 Paris summit on Africa trade and post-crisis strategic plan for bank Santander. Other notable clients include Goldman Sachs, Shell, BHP, and CITIC group. Amy was also invited frequently by Peking University’s GLOBEX program for international students to give speeches on global economic outlooks.

Amy started her career as a venture capital analyst for Bloomberg in New York and became an economist for World Bank and Wood Mackenzie based in Beijing where she covered the Asian markets. She was also involved in corporate strategy and investment projects in Europe for China’s real estate giant CFLD International.

Amy earned her BA in financial accounting from Renmin University and MPA in international economics policy at Columbia University, where she learned from her academic supervisor Nobel Prize Winner Professor Robert Mundell. She currently serves the Columbia Alumni Association as a Beijing board member. Besides her passion for economics, Amy is a culture and language lover, She was an undergraduate exchange student at Seoul National University in South Korea and obtained an MBA in IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.
