Andrea Needham is the department head of Vanguard’s HR Data & Analytics organization. In this role, Andrea leads an organization which partners with Human Resources professionals at Vanguard to create the best employee experience. Specifically, her team is responsible for producing best-in-class analytics to aid in HR policy implementation as well as the protection of sensitive crew data through a comprehensive and secure access management process. Her department consists of teams highly skilled in analysis, visualization, survey development, and data governance.

Andrea joined Vanguard in 2003 and before her current position served as the department head of Client Experience Analytics in Vanguard's Institutional division. She has also served as a project manager in Offer Development, a manager of communication consultants within Participant Education, and a department head in Implementation Services. Andrea earned a B.S. in mathematics at Millersville University, an M.S. in applied statistics at Bowling Green State University, and an M.B.A. at Saint Joseph’s University.

Outside of the Vanguard world, Andrea is a mother to two teenage boys: Josh and Dominic. She spends her free time coaching her son's soccer team, cooking up new recipes on her backyard BBQ smoker, and, like any true Pennsylvanian,  squeezing the most from her Hershey Park season theme park passes.
