Annie Burt is an accomplished professional and strategic leader with extensive experience across various communications disciplines. As Vice Chair of Enterprise Strategic Communications at Mayo Clinic, she directs internal communications strategy for the organization and its 78,000 employees.

Based at Mayo’s flagship location in Rochester, Minnesota, Ms. Burt oversees staff engagement communications, leadership communications, internal news delivery, employee social media and other internal client communications functions.

For more than 17 years, Ms. Burt has provided innovative leadership for many of Mayo Clinic’s strategic communication initiatives. Her career covers a wide spectrum of communications and marketing disciplines, including corporate communications, issues management, earned, owned, social, and paid media strategies; and executive counsel. She has a special affinity for crisis communications, leadership communications, internal communications measurement, employee experience and enjoys leading high-performing teams.

Prior to her career at Mayo Clinic, Ms. Burt worked for non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the March of Dimes. She holds a master’s degree in strategic communications management from Concordia University-St. Paul and is a member of The Conference Board’s Internal Communications Council II.
