April Bettencourt is a seasoned Employee Benefits professional with 40 years of experience in designing and implementing comprehensive benefit strategies for global organizations.  Currently leading benefit strategy for VSP Vision a not-for-profit company providing eye care services, eyewear and practice solutions to over 85 million members.  As VP of Global Employee Benefits April oversees the benefits and payroll centers of excellence for VSP Vision’s 15,600 US and 950 Non-US employees.   VSP Vision includes VSP vision insurance, Marchon eyewear, 750 Visionworks optical retail stores, and 250 Eyemart Express optical retail stores, as well as VSP Ventures, iCare and Eye Doctors Optical locations.

Joining VSP Vision in 2001 April is responsible for strategic benefits initiatives, focusing on enhancing employee well-being, fostering a culture of care, and aligning benefits with business objectives.  April has extensive expertise in managing benefits for multinational workforces, navigating the complexities of mergers and acquisitions through due diligence, and driving initiatives that attract and retain top talent. 

With a deep commitment to employee health and financial security, April has built a reputation as a trusted leader and innovator in the field.  A die-hard San Francisco Giants fan!  As a kid, got to see Willie Mays play at Candlestick!  Also love to sing, especially at weddings!
