Bob Lurie is the Program Director of the Chief Strategy Officers Council at The Conference Board. Bob’s lifetime job-to-be-done is enabling firms to reliably achieve and hold a higher organic growth rate. He has deep and broad experience in leading every phase of the work that’s needed, starting with the development of powerful growth strategies for firm’s existing products and their innovations, using the ideas and methods laid out in his American Marketing Association award-winning book, The Organic Growth Playbook. Powerful strategies nearly always call for new, better or different capabilities. Bob pioneered approaches enabling the rapid design of actionable strategy- specific capabilities, and in leading the multiyear, multi-initiative programs firms need to build and operate those new capabilities successfully.
Currently Bob is founder and leader of DeltaG Advisors, a growth focused consulting firm. Between 2014 and 2021, he was Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Insights, and Analytics, of Eastman Chemical, a Fortune 500 materials company, where he led key initiatives in Eastman’s transformation from a diversified to a specialty materials company, and refreshed or rethought the growth strategy for nearly all of its Divisions. Prior to Eastman, Bob was at Monitor Group, a strategy consulting firm, for 25+ years, working with Fortune 500 companies across multiple sectors, including Pharma/Life Sciences, Telecom, Consumer Packaged Goods, Heavy Engineering, Financial Services, and Energy. At Monitor, Bob founded and led double digit growth of its marketing and innovation subsidiary, M2C™, for over a decade, then was Co-Managing Partner of Monitor.
Bob began his career in academia, earning a Phd in Economics from Yale, and then teaching for four years as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Brandeis University.
