Bobbi Silten is a senior leader at FSG, a global nonprofit that partners with foundations and corporations to advance equity through customized consulting, innovative learning communities and thought leadership. She is the Chief of People & Culture and is a Managing Director in the U.S. corporate consulting practice. Prior to this role, Bobbi was the interim co-CEO of FSG while the organization searched for its new leader, and prior to that the Managing Director of the Shared Value Initiative. She is the co-editor of the Purpose Playbook, a guide to help business leaders put purpose into practice with shared value. She is also the co-author of the guide to Centering Equity in Corporate Purpose and co-founded FSG’s Purpose Studio.

 

Bobbi has been a long-time practitioner of leading social change through business and brings deep experience as a purpose-driven leader with over three decades of corporate experience. Previously, Bobbi spent 12 years at Gap Inc. where, in her most recent role, she served as Executive Vice President, Global Talent & Sustainability. Bobbi sat on the company’s senior leadership team and oversaw global talent, communications, government affairs, sustainability, and Gap Foundation. Bobbi was also on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. She joined Gap Inc. in 2005 as the head of Gap Foundation and led the transformation of the organization based on a shared value strategy.

Prior to joining Gap Inc., Bobbi spent a decade at Levi Strauss & Co., with her last five years as President of Dockers U.S. She was on the Board of Directors of the company’s Red Tab Foundation which serves employees and retirees, and the Levi Strauss Foundation. She began her career in advertising and was with Foote, Cone & Belding/SF for 11 years.

Bobbi co-founded and chaired Reimagining Service, a national cross-sector effort to increase the impact of volunteering in the U.S. and was a founding board member of the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety. In 2011, she was appointed by President Obama to serve on the White House Council for Community Solutions. In 2020-21, she was the co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Systemic Inequalities and Social Cohesion. In 2021-22, she was a special advisor focused on ESG matters to the KKR Acquisition Holdings Corp. Bobbi is currently on the board of directors of the Truist Foundation, an advisor to the LifeHikes Foundation, and an emeritus board member of Summer Search. 

Bobbi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
