A 25-year FedEx veteran, Brian Athow began his current role as Managing Director of Human Resource Services in November 2017. Athow directs FedEx Enterprise Health Care, which includes employee health care and voluntary benefits, support programs, plan strategies and management, health access, communications, and administration services.

Athow began his career at FedEx in 1999 and has served in multiple positions across the enterprise - including FedEx Office, FedEx Services, FedEx Corporate, and FTC. His previous leadership roles include both strategy and operations, with experience in sales, customer service, data management, and strategic project management. He has led in a directorial role since 2006 and has supported navigating several complex projects within transportation security, revenue services, and anti-fraud. Athow is recognized as a strategic and transformational leader, and his enterprise knowledge of networks, operations experience, and his ability to execute strategy has been an asset to serving employees and health plan members through FedEx Enterprise Health Care.?

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Lambuth University. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Memphis. Athow also serves on the board of directors for MIFA, a non-profit organization in Memphis that provides temporary housing to families and supports the independence of vulnerable seniors and families in crisis through high-impact programs.
