Charlotte Villiers

Professor of Company Law and Corporate Governance

Charlotte Villiers started her career as a practising lawyer, specialising in Employment Law at Clifford Chance in London, having trained at Simmons & Simmons before moving to the University of Sheffield for my first academic position. She worked also at the University of Glasgow and as a visiting professor at the University of Oviedo before joining the University of Bristol Law School. 

She has taught in a number of areas including Criminal Law, Labour and Emploment Law, European Law, and European Company Law and has taught Company Law and Corporate Governance for a many years.
As Postgraduate Director of Studies, She recently led on the development of two new LLM Programmes - Law, Innovation and Technology, and Law - Environment, Sustainability and Business and has established a Corporate Governance Club for our PG students.

She has been involved in several international research projects, including the Company Law and Sustainability research project which was led by the University of Oslo
