Cindy Donohoe is executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Highmark Health, driven to create a world where everyone embraces health. Highmark Health’s 35,000 employees serve millions of customers nationwide. This $18 billion national, blended health organization includes one of America’s largest Blue Cross Blue Shield insurers and a growing regional hospital and physician network. Cindy leads the enterprise strategy on branding, customer and digital experience, health system and health plan loyalty and acquisition. Highmark Health campaigns have earned several national and international awards and distinctions, including being named a Top Ten Most Effective Marketer in North America by Effies Worldwide. Cindy has also led the development of Tonic, Highmark Health’s first full-service in-house ad agency. Prior to joining Highmark Health in 2015, Cindy served as senior vice president of growth and customer experience at Physicians Immediate Care, a top-10 urgent care provider backed by Anthem, where she helped expand the clinic base by 40 percent in one year. In addition, as Walgreens’ divisional vice president, Cindy led marketing for the company’s $47 billion pharmacy and healthcare division, doubling pharmacy sales driven by marketing which earned global awards and achieved the company’s highest branded recognition. She was also chief marketing officer for UnitedHealth Group’s $20 billion federal programs serving senior Americans, where she helped achieve the highest national market share for Medicare Part D. She launched consumer-driven health care at Great-West Healthcare, now Cigna, and led product management for some of the world’s first enterprise e-commerce products at Netscape and AOL.
