Daniel J. Couvreur is an international banking executive with more than 30 years of experience working at NIBC Bank, KBC Bank and Citibank. Most recently, he led the activities of NIBC Belgium for ten years and was a member of the management team at Merchant Bank. At KBC, Mr. Couvreur was the director general of investment banking. He spent the first seventeen years of his career at Citibank, working both in Brussels and London in various senior client and product roles.
Mr. Couvreur has previous board experience at various companies including Easdaq, B.I.A.C. (Brussels Airport), at real estate and fund management companies and as trustee of the Belgian Governance Body (Guberna). Currently Mr. Couvreur is also a senior board advisor to NIBC Bank, a member of the NIBC Advisory Board, consultant to Varadero Capital and a director of The Conference Board’s M&A Council.
Mr. Couvreur holds a Master’s degree and a “Licentiaat Doctorandus” in monetary and international economics from the Catholic University of Louvain as well as a post university degree in European studies. Mr. Couvreur is fluent in English, Dutch and French and is married with three adult children.
