Dave Skena is a 20-year performance-driven innovator and marketer who since arriving to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts as Chief Marketing Officer in 2018 has flipped the script regarding traditional marketing in the category. Dave puts a premium on insights- and creative-driven earned media strategies that credibly and cleverly insert the brand into cultural moments and the zeitgeist, consistently generating widespread coverage and conversation to drive the funnel top to bottom – without television, radio and out-of-home advertising. Before Krispy Kreme, Dave was Chief Marketing Officer at Ruby Tuesday after more than eight years at PepsiCo where he had several brand marketing roles, including leading Frito-Lay potato chips and premium and value brand snack portfolios (Lay’s, Ruffles, SunChips, Tostitos, Smartfood, Cracker Jack and others). Dave began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Computer Sciences Corporation before later earning his MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Economics from The University of East Anglia in Norwich, England and a BA in Economics from Bucknell University.
