Dea currently serves as Global Head of Culture & Communications at Squarespace. With over 20 years of experience in communications, change management, and end to end engagement, and 5 years of experience in People and Culture, she is a seasoned leader who is passionate about supporting impactful, inclusive, and high-performing cultures that resonate with diverse audiences. In her role, she oversees the areas of internal communications, executive communications, change and strategic communications, employee engagement, events and programming, talent brand and recruitment marketing, and diversity, inclusion and social impact. She sits on the People Leadership Team and partners closely with the Company’s Executive Team, key stakeholders, and partners to align, inform, inspire, include, and engage our global workforce of ~2,000 employees. Since joining Squarespace in February 2020, Dea served as a member of the company’s COVID-19 taskforce, and worked on critical business initiatives like Squarespace’s acquisition of Tock and the Company’s Direct Listing. Prior to joining Squarespace, Dea spent two years as Head of Internal Communications, Change Management, & Employee Engagement at Pernod Ricard. Before that, she built the first Internal & Executive Communications function at Spotify, laying the groundwork for platforms and programs that are still used today. Earlier, she spent over 6 years at American Express in varying roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as Director, Public Affairs and Communications, specializing in change management and transformation efforts, sitting on the leadership team for the American Express Global Banking Group as well as the Company’s Global Network Business. Dea started path as a strategic communicator as the North American Correspondent for IR Magazine and a contributing writer for Corporate Secretary Magazine. Dea studied Philosophy, with a minor in Media Arts and Communications, at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and has been a member of CHIEF since 2020. She lives in Westchester, NY with her husband, 5 year-old son, Maxwell, and 1 year-old rescue dog, Chai (like the latte).
