Diane Gherson

Diane is an executive coach and a Senior Advisor at The Boston Consulting Group and serves on the boards of the Kraft Heinz Company, Centivo, a PE-backed healthcare company, and TechWolf, an AI-based start-up. She is also an executive advisor to VC firm Semper Virens. Diane is best-known for her impact as CHRO at IBM, where she supported a transformative portfolio shift at IBM, redesigning all aspects of the company’s people agenda and management systems, shaping a culture of continuous learning, innovation and agility, and laying the foundation for growth with enterprise-wide re-skilling. She pioneered modernization of the HR profession with AI and digitization to create consumer-grade inclusive experiences for employees, predictive advice for business leaders, and improved productivity for the business. Diane has been recognized by her peers as HR Leader of the Year and induction into the National Academy of HR, and her work has been featured in numerous publications including Harvard Business Review and MIT/Sloan Management Review. The most recent issue (May/June 2024) of the Harvard Business Review includes an article she co-authored on the future of the enterprise as an employer. Most recently Diane has been focused on board governance on human capital issues (as a Board member and as faculty at NACD, NAHR and at the Harvard Business School, where she also taught in the MBA curriculum. Diane holds a BA from University of Toronto and a Master’s degree from Cornell University.
