Don has served as Huber’s Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer since 2014. Young is a corporate officer and management representative to the Huber Huber Board of Director’s EHS&S Committee of the Board. His responsibilities include embedding ESG/sustainability in Huber’s business strategy based on risk reduction, balanced CapEx deployment decisions, customer intimacy, robust global community and employee engagement and bolstering Huber’s overall corporate reputation. With his leadership, Huber was awarded in 2021, the prestigious IMD-Pictet award as the most sustainable global family-owned business.  

Prior to joining Huber, Young was a Prime Minister’s appointee as a full-time Board Member of Canada’s National Energy Board (NEB), an independent federal regulatory agency adjudicating the review and approval of Canada’s major energy infrastructure projects. He has also served as Senior VP of Corporate Sustainability with Smith & Nephew, a global medical technology company, as Executive VP for Ducks Unlimited, Inc., an international nonprofit organization focused on science, environmental problem-solving and public engagement and as a Principal with Golder Associates, a global, employee-owned engineering, environmental and social science consulting practice.

Young earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Regina, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta.
