Liz is a public and private company board member and committee chair with experience in strategy, governance, human capital management, audit, and risk. She is a Senior Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Co where she led two $1B+ global practices, Private Equity (including Sovereign Wealth, Institutional Investors and Family Offices), and Consumer (CPG, Retail, Fashion and Apparel), and was Managing Partner of the Boston Office. Liz served on McKinsey's Board for 9 years as well as on the Global Compensation Committee.
Liz plays a leadership role in public and private company boardrooms across sectors and geographies. She has particularly deep experience in compensation matters as the current chair of the Compensation and Talent Committee at General Mills and a member of the Compensation Committee at NIQ. Liz is a former chair of the Compensation Committee at Axalta and a former member of the same at MIO Partners. Liz also chairs the Nom Gov Committee at Traeger and the Audit Committee at Culligan.
At McKinsey, Liz’s client work focused on broad based performance transformation. Typically global in scope and multi-year in timeframe, they included developing corporate and business unit strategies, building new capabilities, and aligning the organization to deliver top line growth and bottom-line impact. At the center of her work was counseling CEOs and senior executives in reshaping their business portfolio, creating more efficient and effective organizations at scale, and maximizing top team performance. In addition to her client work, Liz played a leadership role in talent management. She was an early leader of McKinsey’s Global Women’s Initiative, championing efforts in flexibility and parental support, and developing an office-based sponsorship program to increase the number of women partners in NA. Later, Liz led the Firm’s partner evaluation and senior partner election processes across all sectors and geographies. She was also responsible for lateral partner hiring and evaluation globally in priority areas such as digital and restructuring.
Liz Chairs of the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College. She is also a Board Member of Social Finance, a nonprofit impact investing fund.
Liz is a graduate of Dartmouth College with an AB cum laude in Engineering Sciences and a BE from Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering. She earned an MBA with Highest Distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School. Prior to joining McKinsey, Liz was an Edison Engineer at GE and a Systems Engineer at IBM.
