Liz Walls is the Executive Director of Health, Welfare & Retirement at the University of Chicago. She joined the University in July 2019. In her role, Liz oversees a team of 14 employees and is responsible for all aspects of the employee benefits, benefits service center, and leave administration for 10,000 employees and 2,000 retirees. Liz has over 20 years of experience in benefits. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Liz was the Director of Benefits, Compensation & HR Administration at PLS Financial Services where she managed a team of 6 employees and was responsible for the benefits, compensation, workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, and the HRIS system. Liz has a B.S. in Psychology from Northern Michigan University and a M.A. in Applied Social Psychology from Ball State University. Liz has also volunteered as a Docent for the Chicago Architecture Center since 2009.
