Ellen Stewart

Ellen Stewart is the Senior Director of HR Strategy & Transformation at Cargill. In this role, Ellen leads an HR team that is focused on Organizational Design, Strategic Workorce Planning, Change Management, HR MADJV, and HR Strategy & Portfolio. 

Ellen first joined Cargill in 2009 leading Change, Communication and Education within Global IT.  In 2013 she became the HR Leader for Cargill Feed and Nutrition, and in 2016 she led HR for the Cargill Animal Nutrition Enterprise. From 2018 to 2021 Ellen lead Organizational Development and helped establish the Cargill Transformation Office.

In January 2022 Ellen left Cargill to join Accenture, where she was a Managing Director in Talent & Organization Strategy focused on developing HR Strategies and Transformation as well as designing and implementing Enterprise-wide Operating models. In July 2023 Ellen returned to Cargill to take on her current role. 

A life-long student of organizations, leaders and making change stick, Ellen was a consultant at Deloitte and BearingPoint prior to 2009. As a consultant she worked on a vast number of transformations within the US Government, industrial manufacturers, hospitality and consumer goods industries.   

Ellen lives in Deephaven, Minnesota with her husband Lane and her two children – Griffin and Ana.  She is on the board of Trustees of the Groves Learing Organization who focuses on advancing literacy for children with dyslexia and ADHD. When Ellen isn’t working she enjoys traveling, walking on both roads and frozen lakes, boating and spending time with family and friends.
