Erika Ahern Curran

Erika Ahern Curran is in-house counsel at Assurant, Inc. She advances the goals of internal business clients while managing the risks of operating in a highly regulated industry. Throughout her career, her roles include designing and building legal and compliance teams and structures, providing legal counsel to support new and growing business models, agreement negotiations with other entities, ranging in size from sole operators to Fortune 100 companies, re-branding product suites, providing legal support for external marketing campaigns, drafting and implementing privacy and cyber-security infrastructure.

Ever cognizant that the relationships we are negotiating into legal agreements will govern long-term business relationships, Ahern Curran works across all departments to create an optimum environment that serves our entity, establishes cohesive and mutually beneficial relationships with business clients, and provide holistic legal counsel. She began hercareer as a trial attorney in the Daley Center in Chicago, handling all phases of litigation, including civil jury trials and appellate practice over five years.
