Evert has worked for more than 20 years in senior management of international Telecom and IT companies such as France Telecom, Intelsat, KPN and Global Metro Networks. He is one of the people who stood at the cradle of building the Internet. Later, he started a management-consulting company through which he supported medium-sized technology & innovation organisations. Hisprofessional life revolves around thinking about strategy, organisation, technology, innovation andsustainability. 

In 2001 Evert decided to reduce his management activities and follow his passion. He became a professional underwater wild-life cameraman. He travelled the world from Micronesia to theGalapagos and participated in a number of documentaries about the state of our oceans. During one of these trips, he (re)discovered thephenomenon of natural self-organising systems: swarms. And almost immediately he saw the benefits this behaviour could have in human organisations. He identified a unique set of principles that facilitate this behaviour and combined them into an innovative model for creating future-proof organisations: the SWARM Solution. In 2020 he published his book SWARM Organisation. In this book Evert describes why our current organisational models can no longer function and how the SWARM Organisation model offers a solution for this.
