Ghazala Ovaice

Ghazala Ovaice, PhD, is head of Google’s talent, learning & organization development (OD) internal global consulting practice where she oversees a portfolio of initiatives on transformation, M&A, org effectiveness, org health & change, talent and performance needs of scaling businesses. She previously also led OD in Google’s Cloud and Global Business Organizations. In addition, she helped shape the Org Health & Change, Org Diagnosis and People Dev M&A integration POVs and capabilities at Google. Prior to Google, Ghazala was the Sr. Director of Talent & Organization Consulting at Abbott for almost 15 years where she led a global internal consulting practice focused on organization assessment & design, organization culture, talent management, employee engagement and leadership development. She also had enterprise responsibility for large scale transformational change initiatives, M&A culture change, OD needs in emerging markets & led the OD COE. Her early research interests include trust in the workplace, cross-cultural issues in work related values, and the relationship of organization culture and performance. Her background is in OD, Organization Research, Leadership Development, and Evaluation. As a result of her educational, corporate, and consulting experiences she has worked in the tech, healthcare, consulting, and non-profit educational industries.   

Ghazala received a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in Human Resource Development with a concentration in OD and Evaluation. She also earned a MS in Industrial Relations with a concentration in Training & OD from Loyola University Chicago and her BS is in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the UIUC. She maintains a connection to academia through professional organizations, guest lecturing, and has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University, Benedictine University and Roosevelt University.
