Gretchen Bayne is the Manager of Wellbeing Programs, including Arts for Health, Fitness Centers and the teammate wellness department, for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. She started at Baptist in 1996, before they had a wellness program, as an intern. She accepted her first job with Healthy Carolinians of NC and returned to Baptist more than 25 years ago. Education and Credentials Gretchen graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Health Promotion and minor in Business. She is received her Certificate in Leadership through Wake Forest University, is a Certified Wellness Practitioner and Certified Wellcoach. Research/Notable Achievements She was an active member of an IRB (International Review Board) research study that investigated the cost-effectiveness of a company-sponsored wellness program by comparing medical expenditures of program participants and non-participants: Comparison of NCBH Employee Direct Medical Expenditures between 2002-2006 the Health Incentive Program Participants and Non-Health Incentive Program Employees She also was a Co-Principal Investigator for an IRB feasibility study in 2015: Application of art as therapy in an inpatient hospital setting
