Scott W. Campbell is Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Pohs Endowed Professor of Telecommunications at the University of Michigan. His research examines the social implications of new media, with an emphasis on mobile telephony, social capital, and civic engagement. Several of his projects use a comparative approach to situate the role of mobile communication technology in the larger media landscape and across different societies.
