Lisa M. Fairfax is the Leroy Sorenson Merrifield Research Professor of Law at The George Washington University School of Law. Prior to joining the GW faculty, she was a law professor and director of the Business Law Program at the University of Maryland School of Law. 

Fairfax serves on the National Adjudicatory Council and the NASDAQ Market Regulation Committee of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Corporate Law’s Section of Business Law. Before entering academia, she practiced corporate and securities law with Ropes & Gray in Boston and the District of Columbia. Fairfax graduated from Harvard Law School and Harvard College with honors.
