Ruth Whaley

Ruth Whaley is Program Director for Risk Management at The Conference Board.  She has over 25 years executive experience in global fixed income products and risk management.  Her firm, Barset Consulting LLC, advises clients on risk management practises, governance, transaction and portfolio analysis.  Barset also provides conference development for a range of risk topics. Formerly Ms. Whaley was Chief Risk Officer at MBIA, Inc., where she led risk management for the firm’s financial guaranty and investment businesses. Before that she was chief underwriting officer at CapMAC Holdings, Inc. and was a corporate banker at Citibank and UBS. 

Ms. Whaley is also a Board member of Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited, of Cambridge in America and on the Chairman’s Council of Rioult Dance Company. She is a senior advisor for the Cambridge Judge Business School Centre for Risk Studies.

She was educated at Cambridge and Harvard Universities.
