Thomas Lyon is the Dow Chemical Professor of Sustainable Science, Technology and Commerce at the University of Michigan, with appointments at the Ross School of Business and the School of Natural Resources and Environment. He also serves as associate director of research at the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise. His research focuses on corporate environmental information disclosure, greenwash, the causes and consequences of renewable energy policy, and voluntary programs for environmental improvement. Lyon is the author of Corporate Environmentalism and Public Policy (Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press, 2004), and he serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Economic and Management Strategy and Journal of Regulatory Economics. His research has been published in the RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and the Journal of Law, Economics and Organizations. Lyon earned his bachelor’s degree at Princeton University and his doctorate at Stanford University.
