Judy Young is the Assistant Director of Training and Development at the Employment and Disability Institute of the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. She provides consultation, training, and support for organizations seeking to balance compliance obligations with practical strategies to facilitate productivity, job retention, and employee engagement. Specifically, Judy's interests are in examining the interplay of overlapping disability focused federal regulations, such as the ADA, FMLA, and Workers’ Compensation.
For the past five years, Judy served as the director of the National Technical Assistance, Policy, and Research Center for Employers on the Employment of Persons with Disabilities funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability and Employment Policy (ODEP) where she led a team of researchers, practitioners, and technical assistance providers that focused on the development and dissemination of best practices for HR, diversity, and disability management professionals on the effective workplace integration of employees with disabilities, including veterans and aging workers.
Judy is a frequent presenter at major diversity and employment conferences and she is a member of the speaker’s bureau of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
