Don Bulmer is Chief Marketing Officer at Tribal Planet, Inc.

Don has +20 years of multi-national experience leading innovative, award-winning marketing and communication programs at top energy, enterprise technology, internet startup, and professional services companies.

He currently serves as CMO at Tribal Planet, a San Mateo, CA-based company that creates mobile platforms that transform issue advocates into brand advocates by motivating consumers to preform actions for social causes in exchange for rewards that drive measurable brand lift and commercial transactions.

Previously, Don was vice president of communication strategy at Royal Dutch Shell where he was responsible for the design, governance, implementation and measurement of Shell’s social media, influence and partner communication programs.

Prior to joining Shell in 2011, Don spent 10 years at SAP AG as vice president of communication where he lead SAP’s influencer programs inclusive of university alliances, customer communities, IT and business influencer relations and partner communications.

Don serves as a member of the board of directors at The Churchill Club, an internationally-respected independent business and technology forum located in Silicon Valley, where CEOs, thought leaders, global business executives, and senior political leaders meet to discuss and debate important issues related to innovation, leadership, and economic growth.

Don also serves as a senior fellow and member of the board of directors at The Society for New Communication Research, a global nonprofit 501(c)(3) research and education foundation and think tank focused on the advanced study of new media and communications and their effect on traditional media, business, culture, and society.

Don was inducted into the PR News Hall of Fame in 2009.
