Jennifer Mauer has built a reputation as a strategic communications leader who successfully navigates organizations through periods of start-up, crisis, growth, and change. Over her career, Jennifer has created trusting relationships with all levels of employees including CEOs, Executive teams, and Boards of Directors. These relationships have proven critical in supporting the overall business strategy including transformational initiatives and change management efforts. She is an expert at accelerating business value, protecting brands, and enhancing company reputations. Her experience spans across Executive, corporate, financial, marketing, product, internal, and external communications. In September 2020, Jennifer joined Viatris as the Head of Global Communications and Corporate Brand, supporting the establishment of a new organization formed by the combination of Pfizer’s Upjohn business unit and Mylan. In this role, Jennifer directly partners with the CEO, CFO, and President of the company. She leads all communication and branding activities associated with the start-up and launch of the newly formed company. She established a global organization and incorporated a new set of enterprise-wide values and culture while leveraging a data and analytics approach to decision making and programming. Jennifer’s early career includes working as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, a Consultant for McKinsey & Co., and as a Journalist for Dow Jones & Co. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the Institute for Public Relations and Board of Directors for Good Grief. She holds a MBA in Strategy & Marketing from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Journalism from the University of Richmond.
