Joan’s career at Stanford Health Care progressed over 35 years from bedside nurse to Director of Nursing, Director of Strategic Patient Care Programs, and finally Administrative Director of Patient and Community Engagement. While there, she managed thousands of clinical staff, led the development of revolutionary care models and established one of the first Patient and Family Partner Programs in the country. Joan went on to do international consulting before joining Navvisa three years ago. She is a national speaker and published researcher and respected for her expertise in health care innovation and patient centered models.
