John Brewer

John Brewer is a Program Director at The Conference Board. In 2000, John began working for The Conference Board of Canada, rapidly developing a broad portfolio of events on topics including: Diversity and Inclusion, Corporate Culture, Human Capital Risk, HR Transformation, Leadership, Talent Management, Risk Management, Executive Compensation, Change and Transformation, Health Care, Innovation, Social Media, Benefits and Pensions, Project Management, Cybersecurity & Insider Threat, and Business Process Outsourcing.

Prior to his work with The Conference Board, John worked with The Institute for International Research; one of the world’s largest commercial conference organizations. John worked for a year developing events for the manufacturing division and learning the basics of conference design and development. He soon established his own conference company that developed a number of events, and later joined a large speaker agency as an “idea scout” searching out and evaluating new talent for the agency – particularly a number of prominent scientists and academics.

John’s other work experience includes assisting The Conference Board of Canada’s Chief Economist in identifying and securing speaking engagements for The Economist’s Inaugural Canada Summit, facilitating the worldwide broadcast of the Munk Debates for The BBC, and developing a large annual summit and satellite events on diversity and the environment for Canada’s top 100 Employers.
