Katharine W. Kenny is a Program Director at The Conference Board. Previously, she worked at CarMax and was promoted to Vice President, Investor Relations in April 2009.In addition, she served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Massey Energy Company, also headquartered in Richmond. Prior to Massey, she served in similar positions at Ruddick Corporation in Charlotte, North Carolina and Pillowtex Corporation in Dallas, Texas, where she began her IR career in 1993. Katharine retired from CarMax on July 31, 2019.
Katharine received her B.A. from Kenyon College in 1977. She received an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Cleveland State University in 1983, where she was awarded Beta Gamma Sigma recognition (the National Scholastic Honor Society in the fields of Business and Administration).
In 2019, Katharine was named Institutional Investor’s #1 Best IR Professional by both the Buy and Sell Side for Retailing/Broadlines and Hardlines.
Katharine recently served as the Co-Chair of The Conference Board’s Global Council of Investor Relations Executives. She serves on the Advisory Council for Women's Health Research at Yale (WHRY).
