Kathryn Metcalfe is senior vice president and chief communications officer of CVS Health, returning to the company after a stint at Bristol Myers Squibb where she led corporate affairs, including internal and external communications, global advocacy, state and federal government affairs, and global policy. In 2020, she helped the company expand its patient support programs for those impacted by the pandemic, created industry-leading commitments to equality and built the company reputation and new brand following the historic acquisition of Celgene Corporation.

Kathryn joined Bristol Myers Squibb from CVS Health, where she was chief communications officer following the company acquisition of Aetna. Kathryn served as the Aetna chief communications officer during the transformational deal. Previously, she was chief communications officer of Deloitte and held senior communications roles at Pfizer and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Kathryn started her career working for communications consultancies in the biotechnology and health care industries.

She has received many awards for her work. Most recently, Kathryn was elected to the PRWEEK Hall of Femme and was named one of Diversity Journal’s Women to Watch.

Kathryn holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She is an advisor and former faculty member at NYU School of Professional Studies. She served on the board of the Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) and built a park in her hometown of Boise, Idaho. Kathryn has three children.
